Showroom visit at Helly Hansen

For this edition of "a visit to" at the Sports Business Center, we’re taking you to the Helly Hansen showroom. We’ll get a sneak peek at the latest collections and explore the philosophy behind this brand, where functionality, comfort, quality, and sustainability are central.

In the showroom, Daniëla van Bodegom (Account Manager) shares the story and growth of Helly Hansen with enthusiasm. This brand, founded in 1877, started with sailing apparel and has since evolved into a versatile player in the outdoor industry. In 2017, Helly Hansen acquired Musto, the British sailing clothing brand, further strengthening its position in the market.

The team behind the Helly Hansen showroom at the Sports Business Center in Leusden—Patrick van der Heijden, Manouk Meertens, Daniëla van Bodegom, and Fleur van Milligen—works together to bring this experience to life.

The showroom serves not only as a place to present the latest collections but also as a venue for workshops and clinics. Here, retailers and store staff can learn all about the story behind Helly Hansen’s products, materials, and innovations.

The 2025 winter collection offers a modern blend of essential colors with fresh, vibrant accents and patterns, making the collection both functional and stylish. Fleece items, a beloved and recurring favorite from the brand, play a key role this season, celebrated for their warmth and versatility.

Technologies and materials
Helly Hansen is renowned for its innovative technologies, such as Helly Tech®, a waterproof and breathable membrane that provides reliable protection from the elements without compromising comfort.

Another standout is the Lifa® technology, which wicks moisture away quickly to keep the wearer warm and dry—a signature feature in many Helly Hansen products.

Combined with insulating materials like PrimaLoft®, known for its lightweight warmth, these technologies ensure that the collection perfectly meets the needs of outdoor enthusiasts, skiers, and adventurers seeking performance, comfort, and protection in any weather.

Battery-saving technology
Helly Hansen continues to innovate with the Life Pocket™, introduced in 2017 and now featured in several collections. This smart pocket extends the battery life of devices in cold environments, making it a valuable addition to popular jackets designed specifically for outdoor activities.

Sustainability
Sustainability is a top priority for Helly Hansen, and the brand is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. They incorporate recycled materials, such as the lightweight and eco-friendly PrimaLoft® synthetic insulation, into their products.

In addition, Helly Hansen strives to minimize the impact of its production processes by adopting sustainable practices. With this commitment, the brand aims not only to deliver high-quality products but also to contribute to a better world for future generations.
